Detailed Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical IBM Cognos Developer to join our Business Intelligence team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of enterprise reporting solutions using IBM Cognos Analytics.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain complex reports, interactive dashboards, and ad-hoc queries using IBM Cognos Analytics (Report Studio, Workspace, Query Studio, and Dashboarding).
- Design and build robust metadata models using Framework Manager, ensuring an understanding of intent modeling and semantic modeling.
- Analyze the "AS-IS" architecture to identify technological or platform limitations. Define and recommend the "TO-BE" architecture to support current and future data requirements.
- Provide industry best practices and market trends regarding Cognos Data Modeling to ensure the system remains scalable and efficient.
- Lead technical efforts in report development and performance optimization to ensure fast data retrieval and rendering.
- Utilize Cognos Connection for efficient report scheduling, bursting, and distribution.
- Integrate Cognos reports with other enterprise systems and applications as required.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all reporting solutions, architecture changes, and data processes.
- Define, extract, analyze, and present data to answer critical business questions.
- Provide ongoing support and training to end-users and junior team members on Cognos tools and reporting best practices.
- Work effectively in Agile environments, collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver BI solutions on time.
Must-Have Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data modeling and Business Intelligence (BI) development.
- Expert-level proficiency with IBM Cognos Analytics, specifically Report Studio, Workspace, Query Studio, and Dashboarding.
- Strong experience with Framework Manager for metadata modeling, including intent and semantic modeling.
- Cognos Connection for report scheduling and distribution
- Strong technical expertise in report development, data modeling, and performance optimization
- Working knowledge of other BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
