What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator 1 position at Ascential Technologies?
This is an entry level position. There is no requirement for previous machining experience. However, CNC Operator I should have some knowledge of machining. This persons values should be centered around working in a team atmosphere to encompass a smooth flow across all operations. Good written and oral communications skills are essential.
Working hours are 5:00am-3:30pm Mon-Thurs
Primary skills and responsibilities:
- Manual Mill/Lathe experience helpful
- Follows work instructions to maintain repeatability in quality parts.
- Follows Job orders to produce only the amount required
- Operates mills and lathes by following instructions, including zero and reference points.
- Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Follow quality standards to ensure parts are to the customer and company standards
