Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold outreach, prospecting, referrals, networking, and market research
- Generate a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects to support territory growth targets
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand customer operations, challenges, and needs
- Present solution-based proposals that demonstrate value, efficiency, and total cost of ownership advantages
- Guide prospects through the full sales cycle from initial contact through negotiation and close
- Maintain disciplined pipeline management and accurate activity tracking within Salesforce CRM
- Collaborate with internal teams to align on pricing, fulfillment, and onboarding for newly acquired customers
- Partner with Account Managers to ensure successful customer onboarding and account transition after close
- Monitor competitive activity and industry trends that may impact territory strategy
- Represent Ascentek professionally during customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows
- Maintain consistent prospecting cadence and follow-up discipline to advance opportunities
- Promote Ascentek’s digital tools and e-Commerce platform to enhance customer engagement
- Analyze sales performance data and pipeline metrics to prioritize opportunities and drive results
- Participate in ongoing training to strengthen product knowledge, technical understanding, and sales skills
- Model Ascentek’s values through teamwork, accountability, and a commitment to doing what’s right
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of sales, business development, or customer-facing experience
- Experience with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce
- Demonstrated ability to prospect and build relationships with new customers
- Strong prospecting and pipeline management discipline
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to identify customer challenges and present value-driven solutions
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently within a defined territory
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and performance metrics
- Resilience and persistence required to succeed in a new business development role
- Experience in automotive, fleet, industrial, or lubricant-related industries
- Familiarity with technical or solution-based selling
- Experience using Salesforce CRM
- Demonstrated ability to close new business opportunities
- Industry certifications or lubricant coursework
- Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and use of hands to operate computer equipment
- Occasional standing, walking, and travel to customer sites, trade shows, and industry events
- Ability to lift and move items up to 10 pounds such as laptops or sample materials
- Work primarily performed in a remote or hybrid environment
- Frequent travel within assigned territory to meet with prospects and customers
