The Material Handler will receive, store, and distribute materials and products within a warehouse using a Warehouse Management System and supporting production lines.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Expedite the unloading of material from trailers, verifying item numbers and checking for discrepancies
- Receives PO’s using a handheld computerized Warehouse Management System
- Reads Production Work Tickets to determine items to be picked and staged in the Work Order staging area
- Participate in daily cycle counting program
- Pick and stage orders by interpreting customer-specific work instructions
- Adhering to the company’s safety standards and enforcing safety regulations
- Maintain clean and orderly work area and warehouse
- Responsible for the accuracy of all system transactions
- Verify that the quality of outbound loads meets customer expectations
- Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the company’s ISO standards
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
Experience and/or Training:
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience of forklift operations and training
- Experience using a computerized Warehouse Management System
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have good command of the English language and the ability to read and understand written instructions
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to accurately complete job tasks
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers to aid in satisfying customer requirements
- Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished written or orally in English
- Ability to use basic tools, various material handler equipment and hand-held scanners
- Must exhibit promptness and attention to detail
Physical, Mental, Environmental Demands:
- Frequent lifting and carrying materials up to 50 lbs.
- Standing, walking, bending, and operating material handling equipment for extended periods
- Exposure to warehouse temperature changes, noise, and moving machinery
- PPE required including gloves, steel-toed shoes, and safety glasses
