What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Technical Program Manager -- NPI and Development position at Ascentec Engineering, LLC?
Description
Ascentec Engineering is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead complex New Product Introduction (NPI) and development projects across our precision-machined semiconductor and aerospace hardware portfolios. This role requires deep technical acumen in manufacturing engineering and machining fundamentals, paired with strong project management execution skills to drive complex programs from early development through production release.
You will work cross-functionally across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams — proactively surfacing risks, coordinating mitigation, and ensuring readiness for successful manufacturing at scale. You will act as a technical interface with our world-class customers, where proactive risk management, technical judgment, and schedule execution are critical.
This is not a reporting-focused PM role — it is a hands-on technical program ownership role that demands real-time decision-making, manufacturing problem-solving, and leadership from concept through full production.
Important Note: This role is entirely focused on manufacturing and hardware-based project management. Candidates with primarily software development, IT project management, or SaaS delivery experience will not be considered. We are specifically seeking candidates with direct experience in machined metal assemblies, precision manufacturing, or hardware-based NPI programs within semiconductor, aerospace, or related industries.
Join us at Ascentec Engineering and be part of shaping the future of semiconductor and aerospace manufacturing excellence. We are building the future — one precision part at a time.
This position is on-site (not remote/not hybrid) and not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate NPI project execution for highly complex machined assemblies.
- Own all program deliverables: manufacturing readiness, risk identification and closure, schedule tracking, customer communication, and cross-functional alignment.
- Actively engage in technical problem-solving — provide manufacturing feedback, review designs for manufacturability (DFM), and drive proactive issue resolution.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans across multiple assemblies, tracking key milestones, resource needs, and risk mitigation paths.
- Surface resource gaps, material risks, and supplier challenges early, driving escalations and solutions.
- Represent manufacturing and program health in customer-facing reviews with technical credibility.
- Establish and validate tooling and fixturing readiness for production success.
- Drive and document Manufacturing Process Readiness (MPR), risk registers, and process flow validations.
- Partner closely with supply chain and operations teams to ensure material flow and process execution support on-time NPI launch.
- Standardize program management reporting and structure across multiple NPIs.
- Support process improvement initiatives and technical roadmap strategies for continuous scaling and excellence.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline (strongly preferred).
- Minimum 8 years of project/program management experience leading technical manufacturing projects (NPI, machining, or assembly-heavy builds).
- Direct background in semiconductor or aerospace manufacturing environments (machined metal assemblies or subassemblies preferred).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, precision welding, leak testing, and material processing.
- Demonstrated ability to read technical drawings and 3D models and identify manufacturability risks independently.
