What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Completions Operations Engineer position at Ascent Resources?
Ascent Resources is seeking an experienced Senior Completions Operations Engineer. This is a field-based position located at our Cambridge, OH field office and reports to the Operations Engineering Manager. The Operations Engineer role requires a well-rounded individual capable of engineering design and analysis as well as familiarity with on-site operations. The best candidate will have demonstrated an aptitude to leverage reason, data, analysis, and experience to improve efficiencies and reduce costs in field operations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
• Identify and lead projects to drive economic profitability (NAV, NPV, PIR, et cetera).
• Evaluate new technologies or processes to improve efficiency or reduce costs in alignment with EHS objectives with special emphasis on wellheads and frac operations.
• Design, implement, and assess testing, in coordination with completions operations and engineering, to improve CAPEX efficiency.
• Assist with the planning and execution of workovers and completion operations.
• Assist with the development and review of best practices and SOPs.
• Interface with service companies and regulatory agencies.
• Operate with comfort between 40% field, 60% office duties.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Requirements:
• Experience with all aspects of horizontal completions operations (frac, wireline, well control, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships, achieve consensus, and drive change with internal/external stakeholders.
• Familiar with unconventional asset development and operations
• Interest and experience solving ill-defined and complex problems
• Able to foster a high level of confidence and reliability in thought processes and results
• Professional, polished demeanor; can work directly with field personnel to senior management
• Knowledge of completions operations equipment design, specs, and industry standards
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Preferred:
• Experience with Dual Fuel (Tier II & IV DGB) and E-Fleets
• Experience with workover rig operations (drillout, intervention, and P&A)
• Experience with SIMOPs
• Field-based operations experience
Education & Work Experience Required
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering
• 6-10 years of professional oil and gas exploration and production experience
Preferred:
• EIT Certificate
• PE License
• MBA / PMP
