THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the nursing team at Pleasant Hill. This is a key leadership role providing oversight of nursing services, regulatory compliance, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The DON will model Thrive Now’s values of cultural competence, equity, integrated care, and professional growth.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of nursing staff, ensuring appropriate coverage across all shifts.
- Participate in client assessments, identifying medical risks and collaborating on individualized treatment plans.
- Oversee medication management processes, including accuracy of MARs and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Deliver direct patient care when needed, including assessments, interventions, and discharge planning.
- Partner with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate holistic care.
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and Joint Commission requirements.
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate nursing staff, promoting competency, growth, and alignment with our mission.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Required: RN Licensure in Iowa.
- Preferred: BSN or higher.
- 2 years of nursing experience in behavioral health, SUD, or residential/acute care.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Experience with HR functions such as scheduling, performance evaluations, and staff development.
- Knowledge of infection control, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
