This is a full-time paralegal role with a strong administrative and operational component. The position is designed to bring structure, consistency, and efficiency to one of the firm's practice areas by managing the workflow that supports the attorneys handling client matters.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned paralegal who thrives at the intersection of substantive case work and practice management. This person will play a critical role in keeping cases on track, coordinating deadlines, supporting attorneys across the practice group, and building out the systems and resources that allow the team to scale.
Core Responsibilities
The paralegal will be responsible for, without limitation:
- — Assisting in staffing cases and ensuring appropriate resource allocation across the practice
- — Monitoring tasks and deadlines across all active matters to ensure timeliness and accuracy
- — Managing trial calendars and final arbitration hearing calendars for the practice group
- — Interfacing directly with client contacts on administrative and case-management issues
- — Opening new matters and obtaining billing numbers
- — Handling case closing procedures and managing file destruction protocols
- — Assisting with time entry and reviewing invoices to ensure accuracy before client submission
- — Compiling information for case budgets and supporting financial reporting on matters
- — Managing data across cases and supporting the practice group's information systems
- — Developing template documents, form files, and a brief bank for use in common case types
- — Creating and maintaining training materials for new and existing paralegal and support personnel
Qualifications
- — Paralegal certificate or bachelor's degree required
- — Minimum 5 to 7 years of paralegal experience in a law firm environment, with significant administrative and operational responsibility
- — Prior experience supporting a litigation practice strongly preferred
- — Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously
- — Strong proficiency with legal practice management software, document management systems, and standard Microsoft Office applications
- — Experience with time and billing systems and a working understanding of legal invoice review
- — Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the polish to interface directly with clients
- — A proactive, detail-oriented work style and the judgment to know when to escalate
- — Strong organizational instincts and a track record of building processes that improve team efficiency

Work Arrangement
