Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Linux Systems Administrator to join our IT team in Melbourne, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Linux-based systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and related infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Collaborate with development and network teams to support application deployments and network configurations.
• Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of experience administering Linux systems (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, file systems, and networking.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or KVM.
• Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is a plus.
• Understanding of security best practices and experience implementing them.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
