Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, performing a variety of routine paralegal duties and having a solid understanding of routine legal issues. Assisting attorney and others in legal case preparation and file management for standard matters, which may include routine to moderate legal research, conducting investigations, drafting routine documents, and obtaining, reviewing, summarizing, and analyzing all relevant documents, reports, records, and other sources of information.
Responsibilities:
- Compile and/or draft legal documents for review and use by attorneys, such as routine documents, discovery responses, affidavits, and other routine legal documents.
- Assist attorneys in preparation of witnesses for deposition and/or trial with general matters.
- Conduct basic legal research and analysis to prepare legal documents.
- Prepare exhibits and other demonstrative evidence.
- Coordinate requests between multiple parties involved in litigation.
- Subpoena records.
- May review and process bills for payment.
- Work closely with adjusters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
An ideal candidate should have:
- Paralegal or litigation/claim experience.
- Knowledge of circuit court scheduling procedures and guidelines.
- Strong typing and computer skills.
- Advanced grammar and writing skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and exceptional writing skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to manage time and tasks.
- Bilingual (preferred but not required).
