The Parts Counter Sales Representative/Delivery Driver is responsible for supporting parts sales operations while ensuring timely and accurate delivery and pickup of parts and equipment. This position serves as a key link between customers, service technicians, vendors, and the parts department by providing exceptional customer service, managing inventory transactions, processing orders, and coordinating deliveries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Parts Counter Sales Representative:

• Assist retail, wholesale, and internal customers in selecting and purchasing parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
• Answer incoming phone calls and provide parts pricing, availability, and product information.
• Promote companion products and applicable specials to maximize customer satisfaction and sales opportunities.
• Pull, fill, and process parts orders for customer pickup, service department needs, and deliveries.
• Receive payments, obtain credit authorizations, and ensure all sales documentation is complete and accurate.
• Process returns and credits according to company procedures.
• Follow up on backorders and special-order parts and communicate status updates to customers and internal departments.
• Maintain accurate records of repair orders, invoices, special orders, and inventory transactions.
• Assist with inventory replenishment, stocking, and inventory control activities.
• Support outside sales representatives with order fulfillment and customer requests.

Parts Delivery Driver:

• Deliver parts and equipment to customers, vendors, satellite locations, and wholesale accounts.
• Pick up parts and supplies from vendors and suppliers as needed.
• Verify deliveries against invoices and collect payments when required.
• Maintain accurate delivery and pickup logs, including recipient signatures.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with the Parts Manager and shipping/receiving personnel.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Assist with receiving stock orders and expediting incoming inventory.
• Ensure timely distribution of parts to service technicians and customers.

Inventory & Department Support

• Receive, stock, label, and organize incoming inventory.
• Notify management of out-of-stock items, critical inventory shortages, and urgent customer requirements.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and lost-sales tracking initiatives.
• Keep parts counters, stockroom areas, delivery vehicles, and workspaces clean, organized, and professional.
• Participate in training programs and stay current on product updates and industry knowledge.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the dealership positively at all times.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two or more years of experience in parts sales, inventory management, delivery operations, or a related field preferred.
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, operating instructions, and business documents.
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate quantities, percentages, and pricing.
• Ability to solve practical problems and make sound decisions using established procedures.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience with inventory or dealership management systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification.
• Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist Certification.
• Previous experience in heavy-duty truck, automotive, construction equipment, or related parts operations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift parts and materials.
• Ability to safely operate delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier items with assistance or proper equipment.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
