Position Summary:
The Director of Finance plays a pivotal role in shaping the financial health and sustainability of our organization. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead with purpose, ensuring financial integrity across departments while driving long-term success.
You’ll oversee all financial department and functions, from budgeting and reporting to audits, and collaborate closely with executive leadership, the Board Treasurer, and the Finance Committee. Your work will directly impact on our ability to serve our community and grow our impact.
Essential Job Functions:
Strategic Financial Oversight
- Lead budgeting, general ledger, financial reporting, assisting with payroll, A/P & A/R
- Manage fundraising, grants, investments, banking relationships, and
- medical billing
- Oversee funding resources and ensure fiscal soundness across the organization
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Code and approve invoices, sign checks, and manage credit applications
- Handle customer invoicing, payment posting, aging reports, and sales tax filings
Payroll & Reporting
- Prepare and present timely monthly financial statement package to management and board of directors
- Oversee payroll reporting process to ensure accuracy
Banking & Audit
- Monitor daily transactions, reconcile statements, and manage ACH/wire transfers
- Prepare audit schedules, maintain debt records, and direct all interactions with external auditors
Asset & Credit Card Management
- Maintain vehicle records and fixed assets
- Administer credit card accounts and monthly statements
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Executive Director and departments on strategic initiatives
- Ensure legal compliance, audit readiness, and insurance coverage
- Contribute to strategic planning and operational execution
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must pass our pre-employment drug screen, physical, and TB testing.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting and financial analysis.
- Computer knowledge and experience necessary
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance, administration, non-profit, or human services
SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Quick Books
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strategic mindset with meticulous attention to detail
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and collaborative workplace
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening
