Director of External Affairs

The Director of External Affairs Consultant will play a key role in aligning and coordinating workflows across all branches of McColl Center, with a particular focus on the organization's external-facing areas-including marketing, philanthropy, and visitor experience. Working closely with leadership and department heads, the consultant will help establish steady, consistent processes that enhance collaboration between teams, improve efficiency, and ensure McColl Center presents a cohesive public presence. This role blends strategic external affairs expertise with strong internal coordination, ensuring that the organization's public-facing activities are well-supported, interconnected, and reflective of its mission.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication and workflow between departments, especially those impacting McColl Center's external presence (marketing, philanthropy, visitor experience, programs).
• Work with department leaders to streamline processes, set timelines, and maintain consistency in messaging, branding, and visitor engagement.
• Develop and implement strategies to align external affairs efforts with internal operational goals.
• Support cross-department collaboration on events, campaigns, and initiatives that enhance public engagement.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth execution from planning to delivery.
• Assist in managing stakeholder and partner relationships, working in collaboration with marketing and philanthropy teams.
• Monitor progress on shared initiatives, track outcomes, and recommend improvements to maintain efficiency and quality.
