Position Summary:
As a Home Health Office Manager, you'll play a vital role in welcoming new patients to Ascend Health. You'll be the first point of contact for patients, families, referral sources, and care partners-ensuring a smooth and professional intake process. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate across clinical and administrative teams to support seamless patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for new patient referrals and inquiries.

  • Verify insurance information, obtain authorizations, and process all necessary intake documentation.

  • Coordinate communication between referral sources, clinicians, and office staff.

  • Answer incoming calls, direct inquiries, and provide exceptional customer service.

  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all patient and agency records.

  • Prepare admission packets and assist with onboarding materials for new patients.

  • Support scheduling and staff coordination as needed.

  • Assist with billing and compliance documentation as part of the intake workflow.

  • Perform other administrative duties to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare or medical office setting (home health or hospice experience preferred).

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, insurance verification, and authorization processes.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficient with computers and EHR systems (experience with home health software preferred).

  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Typing speed of at least 40 WPM.
