Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Qualified Mental Health Professional to provide comprehensive mental health services within a clinical or community setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychotherapy and crisis management, with experience working with diverse populations including children, adolescents, adults, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Duties
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding standards.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, incorporating modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Provide individual, group, family, and crisis intervention counseling to clients with diverse mental health challenges including PTSD, grief, addiction, gender issues, and behavioral disorders.
- Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations while documenting medical terminology and progress notes accurately.
- Coordinate care through case management activities and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient support.
- Deliver telehealth services when appropriate to expand access to mental health care.
- Engage in clinical research projects and data collection efforts to improve treatment outcomes.
- Offer specialized support for populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, patients with autism or developmental disabilities, and those requiring special education or inpatient services.
- Maintain ongoing professional development by staying current on mental health practices and ICD coding updates.
Skills
- Proven expertise in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and behavioral therapy.
- Strong crisis management skills with experience in crisis intervention and crisis management protocols.
- Ability to work effectively with children & family counseling as well as patients with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Experience with medical documentation systems adhering to HIPAA standards; familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for intake assessments, patient care planning, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health and mental health counseling.
- Competence in research methodologies and data collection relevant to clinical research projects.
- Experience working in outpatient or inpatient settings; telehealth experience is a plus.
- Sensitivity to gender issues counseling and working with diverse populations across different age groups including geriatrics.
