Ascedia is seeking a Junior SEO Specialist to join our growing team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic junior SEO professional who is eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment with a talented team. In this role, you will support keyword research, content planning, reporting, and ongoing optimization efforts across multiple clients and industries, including manufacturing, finance, consulting, and more. You will work with experienced digital strategists, gain hands-on experience with leading SEO tools, and begin presenting insights and recommendations to clients as your skills progress. This position is ideal for someone who is curious, detail-oriented, and excited to build a strong foundation in search engine optimization and digital marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly reporting in Looker Studio, starting with written performance insights and progressing to client-facing report presentations
- Conduct keyword and competitor research using Semrush, Google Search Console, and other SEO tools
- Run technical audits to identify and prioritize technical SEO errors and notices using Screaming Frog, Semrush, and/or Google Search Console
- Support the planning and execution of SEO initiatives to improve rankings, traffic, conversions, and client visibility
- Assist with content planning and creation using keyword subtopics and strategic guidance from senior SEO team members
- Learn to independently build keyword clusters and content plans with mentorship from the SEO Manager
- Develop foundational SEO skills, with the goal of progressing into an independent SEO strategist role
- Collaborate with Project Managers and the Digital Marketing team to prioritize impactful SEO tasks and support budget-aligned strategy delivery
- Help document SEO workflows, insights, and learnings to support team efficiency
Qualifications: (Must Have)
- 1–2 years of experience in SEO, digital marketing, or related coursework/internship experience (agency experience preferred)
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to translate data into clear insights
- Familiarity with keyword research concepts and basic SEO principles (on-page optimization, search intent, SERP analysis)
- Interest in content strategy and creating SEO-driven content
- Comfort working with data and dashboards (Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Looker Studio, Semrush, Screaming Frog or similar tools)
- Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving mindset
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and work collaboratively across teams
- Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and grow into an independent SEO strategist
Qualifications: (Not Required)
- Experience with Semrush, Looker Studio, or Google Tag Manager
- Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress or similar)
- Understanding of site audits and technical SEO basics (crawlability, page speed, on-page best practices)
- Familiarity with AI tools for content research and writing support
- Previous presentation or client-facing communication experience
- Ability to use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini) responsibly. This means leveraging them for research, ideation, and efficiency without relying on them to complete all work or replace strategic thinking
