ASC Pumping Equipment is a full-service pump distributorship co-located in West Bend, WI and Lenexa, KS. We represent and service a large variety of pumping equipment and accessory manufacturers. We meet our valued customers’ needs in the Commercial Aquatic, Industrial, Commercial/HVAC, Fire Pump and Municipal markets.
ASC Pumping Equipment is searching for a service technician for its Lenexa location to perform the duties described below. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Duties (On Customer Job Site):
1. Install, service, and test water pumps and associated equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in water pump solutions which vary project by project
- Perform repairs and replacements on pump components such as seals, bearings, impellers, motors, and valves
- Pull pump if needed to bring back to warehouse to further analysis and repair
- Perform start-up of new fire pump installs including controller performance and water releases using large hoses for testing
2. Maintain accurate service records and documentation including but not limited to workorder notes, credit card receipts, and service truck travel logs
3. Communicate findings and repair recommendations with customers and/or supervisors
4. Drive and keep clean company-owned service truck
Duties (At Lenexa Warehouse):
1. Perform repairs to malfunctioning, out of order pumps
2. Machine pump impellers, sand blast components, powder-coat, paint, etc.
3. Operate a forklift, overhead crane, lathe, and other power equipment
4. Assist with physical inventory and maintaining organization
5. Assist with facilities maintenance, or other duties as needed
Required Qualifications:
1. Mechanical and/or electrical experience, preferred with pumps, motors, or industrial equipment
2. Troubleshooting skills
3. Ability to rig suspended loads with approved lifting devices
4. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
5. Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, occasionally lift and move 75 pounds or more
6. Ability to work in outdoor environments: exposed to water, grease, noise, and varying weather conditions as well as occasionally confined spaces
7. Standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing as required
8. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to on-site job sites in Kansas and Missouri
Preferred Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Welding or fabrication experience
3. Technical certifications
4. Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical motors, and control systems

Expectations:
1. Will follow all company safety procedures including wearing the proper safety equipment
2. Will report directly to lead service technician and receive oversight by ASC management
3. Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, occasionally lift and move 75 pounds or more
4. No direct supervisory responsibilities, may be asked to work independently in the field on occasion
5. Little overtime expected, some after-hours or Saturday may be required
