ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for obtaining bids, placing orders for materials, services, supplies, and equipment.
- Research new supply chains to improve overall value (price/delivery time/quality)
- Manage multiple RFQs, long-lead items, and supplier schedules to support engineering and production timelines.
- Sourcing fabricated components, machined parts, steel, industrial equipment, motors, valves, and electrical components is preferred.
- Negotiates pricing, payment terms, and delivery times with key vendors.
- Expedites/de-expedites purchase orders as necessary to meet changes in production requirements, including working with Logistics to schedule and arrange timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Work with Field Engineering Department for field deliveries and returns of rental equipment, and to find sources for local supplies and materials.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing purchasing experience required.
- Typing 50 wpm
- Proficient in Microsoft Access OMS system.
- Working experience within an ISO Quality Management System is strongly preferred.
- Proven negotiation skills with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable delivery.
- Knowledge of sourcing strategies, contract management, and procurement best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills to evaluate the pros and cons of multiple purchasing options based on price, quality, speed of delivery, and other factors.
- Math skills - Able to understand units of measurements, and basic math required.
- Ability to analyze data related to pricing, production planning, and logistics to support decision-making.
