Our growth has created an opportunity to expand our existing Accident Reconstruction team by adding a Senior Accident Reconstruction Expert to lead complex collision investigations and provide expert witness testimony at depositions and trials. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, proven courtroom credibility, and the ability to mentor junior engineers/technicians while managing ongoing casework. This position offers the opportunity to shape the growth of ASC Forensics’ accident reconstruction practice. This position is NOT intended for individuals who do not envision a long-term future within the ASC family.

Growth Path

As ASC Forensics continues to expand, senior experts will have the opportunity to grow into Director-level roles, leading teams, managing client relationships, and shaping divisional strategy as we pursue our mission.

May require up to 25% travel.

Lead accident reconstructions across a wide variety of analysis types, from passenger vehicles to specialty vehicles and more, upholding a high degree of attention to detail and pride in work product.

Perform core analyses including delta-V calculations, crash pulse/acceleration analysis, principal direction of force (PDOF), and collision severity assessments.

Conduct inspections of vehicles, crash sites, and physical evidence using industry-standard methodologies and advanced tools (e.g., laser scanning, sUAS, EDR imaging, etc.).

Prepare clear, defensible reports and exhibits that stand up to scrutiny in litigation.

Provide deposition and trial testimony as a qualified expert witness, as necessary, presenting findings with clarity and authority.

Collaborate with ASC Forensics’ multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated, case-wide analysis and solutions.

Mentor and support junior engineers, technicians, and interns, fostering technical growth and adherence to ASC’s standards.

Maintain professional development and technical expertise to ensure ASC remains at the forefront of forensic engineering practices.

Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients and internal technical staff.

Foundation and background in a wide range of reconstruction analyses.

Trial testimony experience as an expert witness in accident reconstruction.

ACTAR certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).

Strong technical writing skills with a record of producing authoritative reports.

Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences (attorneys, juries, clients). Must demonstrate remarkable verbal, written, and presentation skills and have strong interpersonal skills.

Knowledgeable in accident reconstruction software with a willingness to learn the programs used for reconstruction analyses.

Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Leadership experience guiding technical staff or managing multidisciplinary projects in forensic engineering or related fields.

Advanced academic background, such as a master’s or doctoral degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, Biomechanical, or a related engineering discipline.

Published contributions to the field (peer-reviewed papers, conference presentations, or industry guidelines) demonstrating thought leadership.

Teaching or training experience, whether through professional development courses, CLE programs, or mentoring, showing ability to educate both technical and legal audiences.

Technical versatility, with hands-on experience in a variety of reconstruction analyses.

Experience in product liability and automotive defect analysis.

Experience working with OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
