Founded in 1993, ASC English has supported thousands of international students in achieving their academic and professional goals through high-quality English language instruction. We are now expanding to the Quincy College Plymouth Campus and seeking two (2) dedicated Part-Time ESL Instructors to join our new instructional team. Hours are Monday–Thursday, 5:15 PM – 9:45 PM (up to 18 hours per week) with paid prep time.
Job Summary
ASC English instructors lead engaging, communicative English classes that help students build both language skills and cultural competencies. Instructors are expected to create a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and measurable language progress. The essence of this role is to be a supportive, encouraging educator with a respectful and engaging teaching style.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and organizing lessons using assigned textbooks and supplemental materials
- Establishing a comfortable, communicative classroom environment
- Delivering content dynamically and professionally
- Maintaining accurate attendance and student performance records
- Providing timely feedback and conducting monthly assessments
- Completing student progress reports every two months
- Attending monthly professional development meetings
- Supporting student engagement and retention through open houses and other activities
- Suggesting or leading enrichment activities
- Performing other related duties, as needed
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in TESOL, applied linguistics, education, or a related field preferred
- TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certificate (must include observed lessons)
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to plan lessons effectively and manage time well
- Overseas teaching experience preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to student success and intercultural learning
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to execute lesson planning and skills assessments in a timely manner
- Professionalism and respect in all communication and personal demeanor
- Strong presentation and leadership skills
- Good time management and organizational ability
