What are the responsibilities and job description for the LITS Student Worker position at Asbury Theological Seminary?
Position Summary
Provide tier 1 service and support for students, staff, and faculty including research, technology, circulation, and assist with collection maintenance.
Essential Functions
1. Be a confident, friendly face to answer student/faculty/staff/community questions in person and over the phone providing the types of support listed below.
2. Use library software to circulate library resources.
3. Maintain library resources by participating in tasks such as (but not limited to): shelving, shelf reading, and labeling.
4. Provide research support by assisting patrons in navigating the library catalog, databases and subject guides.
5. Provide technology software support by assisting patrons with Asbury Connect, Gmail, Online Courses, the Portal, etc.
6. Provide technology hardware support by assisting patrons with printers, copiers, classroom technology, and basic computer issues.
7. Participate in ongoing training programs as assigned.
Other Responsibilities
1. Record statistics on Help Desk transactions
2. Other duties as assigned
Financial Responsibility/Authority
1. Handle cash and checks for fines and book sales

Tools & Equipment
1. Basic computer applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
1. Strong oral and written communication skills
2. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
3. Ability to manage time well and meet deadlines as needed
4. Familiarity with both PC and Mac as well as other audio/visual tools
5. Must be detail-oriented
6. Must be familiar with Word, Excel, Google Drive
7. Must have an ethic of service and care
8. An ability/willingness to learn is essential
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality
