Position Overview
We’re looking for hardworking, detail-oriented Barbacks to support our bartending team and help deliver an exceptional guest experience. This role is fast-paced, hands-on, and essential to keeping the bar running smoothly. You’ll be behind the scenes and in the action—stocking, prepping, and anticipating needs to keep the energy high and the service seamless.
Key Responsibilities
- Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and bar supplies throughout service
- Prepare garnishes, juices, and other bar prep items
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, storage areas, and service stations
- Support bartenders with glassware, ice, and tools during high-volume service
- Remove trash, break down boxes, and keep back-of-house areas clean and efficient
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Ensure bar is fully stocked and ready for each shift
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Collaborate with bartenders, servers, and management to ensure smooth service
- Contribute to a high-energy, team-driven atmosphere that reflects the Asbury Social brand
Qualifications
- Previous barback or hospitality experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong work ethic and sense of urgency
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to lift heavy items (kegs, cases, etc.) and be on your feet for long periods
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
- NJ alcohol service certification (or willingness to obtain)
Pay: From $6.05 per hour
