SAP IS-U Solutions Architect Director
A global consulting organization is seeking an experienced SAP IS-U Solutions Architect Director to join its SAP Utilities service line. This role requires 15 years of SAP IS-U experience with deep utilities domain expertise and responsibility for end-to-end integrated solution design and delivery across Build, Test, and Deploy phases.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the overall SAP IS-U solution authority, providing utilities industry best practices across design and implementation
Lead integrated solution design across core SAP IS-U/CIS and related back-office (FICA, Billing, DM/AMI, Exception Management) and front-office (Service, Sales) workstreams
Own solution scope and execution of Conference Room Pilots (CRPs) during the Build phase
Provide solution oversight for third-party and non-SAP integrations critical to business operations
Establish solution governance across SAP and non-SAP platforms and external vendors
Advise Cutover, Data Conversion, Testing, OCM, and Technical workstreams on functional best practices, including dress rehearsals, operational readiness, reconciliation, and performance testing
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful, high-quality solution delivery
Facilitate client and internal workshops to drive alignment and knowledge transfer
Mentor and develop junior team members to support continuous improvement
- 50% travel to major cities in Southwest US or Pacific Northwest US (1 week on, M-Thur, 1 week at home - alternating)
Required Qualifications
15 years of hands-on SAP IS-U implementation experience across Billing, FICA, Device Management (DM/AMI), Customer Service, and Work Management
Strong knowledge of SAP ECC and S/4HANA Utilities and complex system integrations
Proven experience leading solution architecture across blueprint, build, testing (SIT/UAT), and deployment
Demonstrated expertise in cutover planning, data conversion, testing strategy, and operational readiness
Ability to lead and govern large, cross-functional delivery teams
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and vendor governance skills
Deep understanding of utilities industry best practices and CIS environments
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Business, or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field
SAP IS-U certification
Compensation
Base salary range: $190,000 – $210,000 (commensurate with experience)
Eligible for an annual discretionary incentive program
