Responsibilities
- Safely operate passenger vans to transport clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other non-emergency destinations.
- Navigate local driving routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems while adhering to all traffic laws and state transportation regulations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including those with mobility challenges or special needs, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal operation and safety standards are met.
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding pickup times, routes, and any delays; provide excellent customer service with a friendly attitude.
- Follow all safety protocols related to manual handling and heavy lifting when assisting passengers or loading equipment.
- Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance logs in compliance with company policies and local regulations.
Experience
- Prior experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, chauffeur, or shuttle driver is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to operate passenger vehicles such as vans, limousines, or personal cars safely and responsibly.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and local driving routes to ensure timely arrivals.
- Experience in medical transportation or working with clients requiring special assistance is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of state transportation regulations and adherence to traffic laws is essential.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and coordination with healthcare providers.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while assisting passengers or managing luggage or mobility aids.
