Starting Wage: $21.19-$29.15 per hour, depending on experience
Position Summary
The APP Pulmonary Function Tech provides pulmonary function tests, monitors, and administers a multitude of oxygen and breathing devices to patients. Responsible for equipment and procedures related to the support of pulmonary functions. Provides pulmonary function testing as ordered by a physician, assists with bronchoscopes and other invasive procedures, and monitors and recovers patients after treatment. Initiates, monitors, and adjusts patients' therapy based on physicians’ orders and established guidelines for mechanical ventilation techniques.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma, required
- Associate degree in respiratory therapy or related field, preferred
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting to include at least 1 year in direct patient care, is required
Licensure/Certifications
- CCMA: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, required
- BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified by the American Heart Association (AHA), required
- CPFT: Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist, preferred
