Position Description
The hospitalist oversees and administers the continuum of hospital care from the time the patient is admitted until the time of discharge. Responsibilities include patient care and leadership related to hospital care, as well as carrying out medical policies established by Asante Health System. May manage many aspects of a patient’s hospital care to include process management, communications among other physicians involved in the patient’s care, discharge planning, and patient/family communications.

Position Qualifications
Education
- Graduation from an approved ACGME - accredited Internal Medicine Residency program.
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Current unrestricted MD/DO license by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from American Heart Association
- Must obtain and maintain staff membership and appropriate privileges
- Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs
- Must meet all qualifications to participate in hospital’s programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
Compensation
- Annual base salary of $378,000 (minimum work requirement: 168 twelve-hour shifts per year)
- Eligible for additional pay for extra shifts as well as a premium for night shifts
- Year two: Eligible for quality incentive plan up to 10% annually
- Up to $25,000 signing bonus
- Up to $15,000 in relocation assistance
- Up to $5,000 CME Allowance
