What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk position at AS&T Inc.?
Shipping and Receiving Clerk will manage the flow of goods in and out of our facility. You will verify and record incoming shipments and prepare outgoing orders based off of assigned company codes. This role requires organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Monday through Friday, Full Time Position. No previous industry experience necessary. Pay depending on experience. Employee will begin at a training rate.
Qualifications
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently, as well as part of a team
- Some physical demand; often lifts and moves light to heavy-weight material (Up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8 hours)
Responsibilities:
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, records items based off of assigned codes and then routes incoming items to correct departments
- Packages items in appropriate containers with correct labels
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
- Ensures timely dispatch of all outgoing shipments
- Follows all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Uses protective equipment as required
- Other duties as assigned
