Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Overhead Crane Operator to join our dynamic construction and materials handling team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating overhead cranes to lift, move, and position heavy loads across various construction sites and warehouse environments. Your expertise in crane operation, load handling procedures, and safety regulations will ensure efficient workflow and a secure working environment. Responsibilities
- Operate overhead cranes with precision to lift, move, and position materials safely across construction sites or warehouse facilities.
- Follow load handling procedures in crane operations, ensuring loads are secured properly using rigging and load securing methods.
- Operate car mover when switching is required
- Determine or select material and equipment where highly variable sequences are involved
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of cranes and lifting equipment, including checking safety equipment, hydraulics, and load capacity.
- Adhere to construction workplace safety regulations and OSHA safety standards during all crane operations.
- Coordinate with team members to plan lifting sequences and ensure materials are handled efficiently without disrupting workflow.
- Maintain detailed logs of crane usage, inspections, and load movements for compliance and safety audits.
- Regular use of complex machines and equipment (desktop/laptop computer and software, road and production machines and equipment, etc.)
- Assist with materials handling tasks such as loading/unloading trucks using forklifts, boom trucks, or backhoes when necessary.
- Follow safety procedures and practices and keep work area neat and orderly, including all OSHA protection equipment
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating overhead cranes in construction or warehouse environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of cranes, hydraulics, lifting equipment, and material handling machinery such as forklifts or backhoes.
- Knowledge of load handling procedures in crane operations and rigging techniques for securing loads safely.
- Familiarity with construction site safety regulations, OSHA standards, and heavy equipment operation protocols.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance checks on cranes and related equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Valid certifications for crane operation; additional certifications in forklift or boom truck operation are a plus.
- Prior experience working in manufacturing, construction or shipping & receiving environments is highly desirable.

Pay: $18.70 - $24.30 per hour
