CDL Delivery Driver Job Description

Drivers are responsible for safely and efficiently delivering and picking equipment up from jobsites, customer houses, service centers, and more. Position also responsible for fill in yard and other assigned duties as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
Drives truck to and from specified destinations to transport material and equipment in a safe and timely manner.
Loading, unloading, and properly securing equipment.
Provide good customer service standards for delivery service.
Review and obtain signatures on rental contracts.
Instruct customer on safe and proper operation of equipment.
Maintain safe working environment.
Must be willing to work Saturdays.
Maintains and checks trucks equipment and supplies to assure road worthiness.
Maintains logs and records according to DOT regulations as required.
Notifies supervisor of currently needed or anticipated repairs.
Yard work as needed.
Calling/communicating with customers to verify drop sites.
Working Conditions:
Frequent holding and grasping with hands when loading, unloading, and chaining down equipment
Frequent use of hands and feet to operate equipment and transport vehicles.
Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes
Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 90 lbs.
Requirements/Qualifications
Two years of previous experience in hauling equipment and driving.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Ability to effectively use maps and directions for efficient deliver routing.
Working knowledge and understanding of safety regulations.
Physical exertion required. Including but not limited to walking, standing, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Familiarity of layout of city.
Frequent exposure to the elements.
