Part Time Cook

SCHEDULE: ****Monday AND Tuesdays from 1:30pm - 8:00pm****

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and therapeutic diet requirements
• Ensure meals are served on time and meet quality, presentation, and portion standards
• Review and execute diet changes as ordered by clinical staff
• Inspect trays to ensure correct diets are served to residents
• Maintain kitchen sanitation in compliance with food safety regulations
• Follow infection control and universal precautions
• Maintain food storage areas in a clean, organized, and compliant manner
• Assist with inventory, receiving, and storage of food and supplies
• Prepare snacks and substitute meals as needed
• Ensure proper equipment and utensils are available for meals
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to meet resident dietary needs
• Assist with special events, meals, and catering as needed
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and report hazards

Qualifications / Education / Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience in food service, healthcare, or long-term care preferred

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and food safety practices
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Work Environment

• Fast-paced kitchen and healthcare environment
• Exposure to hot equipment, sharp tools, and cleaning chemicals
• Interaction with residents, staff, and visitors
• May require weekends, holidays, and extended hours

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Frequent pushing/pulling of carts and equipment
• Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions

Compliance & Safety

• Must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
• Adherence to OSHA, CDPHE, and facility safety standards required
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information (HIPAA compliance)
