Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience across various specialties, including critical care, emergency medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, and outpatient settings. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks is essential. The RN will be responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care, performing assessments, administering medications and injections, managing IV infusions, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and infection control standards. Experience with specialized procedures such as Botulinum toxin treatment, catheterization, suturing, ventilator management, and medical imaging is highly valued. This role offers opportunities to work in diverse environments including hospitals, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, assisted living centers, and home care settings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations
- Administer medications via various routes including injections and IV infusions while adhering to aseptic techniques
- Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization (urinary and vascular), tube feeding management, ostomy care, and wound care
- Manage airway through airway management techniques and ventilator support in critical care or ICU settings
- Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for post-acute care or hospice & palliative medicine needs
- Assist in diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing and medical imaging procedures such as sonography or mammography
- Provide patient education on health coaching topics including nutrition, chronic disease management (diabetes, infectious diseases), family planning, and geriatrics
- Respond effectively to emergency situations in trauma centers or emergency rooms utilizing skills in trauma medicine and acute pain management
- Support patients with developmental disabilities or dementia through specialized memory care or behavioral health interventions
- Maintain sterile processing protocols for surgical procedures in outpatient or ambulatory surgery centers
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
- Extensive clinical experience across multiple specialties including ICU (Level I & II Trauma Centers), emergency medicine, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), geriatrics (including MDS and dementia care), and post-acute settings
- Skilled in advanced procedures such as suturing, catheterization (urinary/vascular), IV insertion/infusion, tube feeding management, ostomy care, and sterile technique
- Knowledge of pharmacology related to medication administration and pain management strategies
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures and treatments
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations including laboratory testing and medical imaging techniques like sonography or mammography
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and compliance with OSHA standards
- Excellent patient communication skills tailored to diverse populations including children with neonatal needs or elderly patients requiring memory or hospice care
- Ability to work effectively within high-pressure environments such as trauma centers or urgent care clinics while maintaining attention to detail and compassion for patients’ needs
