Travel Requirements
- Candidates not based in Phoenix must be willing to travel 20–40% for project-related needs.
- Candidates based in Phoenix will have limited travel requirements for project client meetings as needed.
- Identify staffing needs and lead the recruitment and hiring of technical staff.
- Support career development through mentorship, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and inclusivity within the team.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, financial performance, and risk.
- Ensure contracts align with Arup’s commercial objectives and risk management standards.
- Lead financial communications with clients and negotiate project scope and schedule changes when needed.
- Drive business development efforts, including developing strategies, proposals, and client pitches.
- Represent Arup externally with clients and within the healthcare industry.
- Cultivate trusted client relationships and find opportunities for new projects.
- Serve as Engineer of Record and lead sophisticated healthcare projects across the region.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Oversee interdisciplinary coordination and handle overall project team performance.
- Deliver high-quality electrical engineering designs for healthcare facilities.
- Lead quality assurance and quality control processes while implementing technical best practices.
- Translate client needs into technically sound, code-compliant, and innovative solutions.
- Support Arup’s strategic growth in the healthcare sector in the West, a key contributor to the region’s income.
- Play a critical leadership role in a confidential healthcare project in Phoenix.
- Help grow the leadership capacity and operational excellence of the Healthcare team.
- Strengthen Arup’s presence and reputation in the healthcare industry.
- Own the successful delivery of the confidential Phoenix healthcare project as a model for future growth.

The Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering required.
- Minimum 15 years of experience designing electrical systems for healthcare facilities required.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months required.
- Minimum 8 years of experience leading multidisciplinary healthcare projects.
- Confirmed experience with Central Plant Design and Acute Care Renovation Projects
- Deep knowledge of applicable healthcare regulations and codes
- Strong commercial savvy, client relationship development, and team leadership skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Passion for sustainable design and alignment with Arup’s mission and values
