About Arukah Institute of Healing Inc NFP

The purpose of Arukah is to provide client-centered, accessible health and counseling services to foster prevention wellness, and mental health in rural communities. Arukah’s methods involve a variety of approaches including novel video-based programs, mind-body therapies as well as more conventional individual and group therapies. We journey with the clients long-term and help them build a healthy view of self as well as healthy relationships with others. Our methods are data-driven and validated by our research program.

Description

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Crisis Services, the Mental Health Crisis Worker provides compassionate, real-time support to individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises during weekday overnight hours. In this hybrid role, you’ll respond both remotely and onsite across multiple counties, offering crisis intervention, de-escalation, emotional support, and safety planning. This position requires strong communication skills, collaboration with community partners, and a commitment to trauma-informed, person-centered care.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, emotional support, and safety planning by phone or in person.
  • Collaborate with emergency services, hospitals, and other community partners.
  • Document all interactions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Help individuals access ongoing care and support services.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to ethical standards of care.
  • Drives to multiple community locations to provide services

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field OR Minimum of 5 years of direct mental health fieldwork experience.
  • Strong communication and crisis management skills.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed and person-centered approaches.
  • Lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery is a plus.
  • Must be local to our service area for hybrid scheduling.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Hourly Rate: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
  • Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision coverage

Weekly Schedule:
  • Three (3) overnight shifts - M-F 8pm-8am
  • One (1) 4-hour afternoon shift - flexibility on which day this shift is worked
