Seasonal St. Nicholas Actor

Position Overview

The St. Nicholas actor will work with ArtsQuest volunteers and professional photography team ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for visiting patrons of Christkindlmarkt Bethlehem. This is a five-week long position during festival hours. St. Nicolas will greet children, individuals and families and have photos taken. Costumes will be provided.

Job Responsibilities

• Present a jolly and joyous image at all times.
• Interact with children through seniors in a positive and respectful manner.
  
  

Duration of position: November 13 – December 20, 2026

Hours Of Work

St. Nicholas hours will be scheduled during the festival hours noted:

• Thursdays, December 3, 10, 17: 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Fridays, November 13, 20, 27 and December 4, 11 & 18: 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.
• Saturdays, November 14, 21 & 28 and December 5, 12 & 19: 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.
• Sundays, November 15, 22 & 29 and December 6, 13, 20: 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  
  

Breakfast With St. Nick Events

• November 28 and December 5, 12, 13 and 19: 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

• Understanding and embodiment of St. Nicholas (not Santa Claus).
• Ability to listen and interact with children through seniors.
• Ability to promote the magic of the holiday season to all patrons.
  
  

Physical Abilities Required

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel frequently required.
• Sitting for extended periods
• Ability to see, hear, speak, and listen frequently required.
• Ability to work indoors in the air conditioning/heat and outdoors in all types of weather conditions when necessary.
  
  

Miscellaneous

• Employment is contingent upon a clear Background Check and Child Abuse Clearance run by ArtsQuest.
• Must have valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation to job location.
• Smoking is not permitted during work hours, excepting breaks, or in a location where patrons can see.
