What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Director position at Arts For Learning/Miami?
ABOUT ARTS FOR LEARNING (A4L)
Founded in 2000, Arts for Learning (A4L) is more than an arts education nonprofit, we’re a movement. Based in Miami, A4L is a hub of creativity, inclusion, and youth empowerment, dedicated to advancing teaching and learning through the arts. Guided by the tagline “All Children. All Arts. All Abilities,” we believe the arts are a powerful catalyst for change and envision a community where every child, from infancy through high school, has access to high-quality arts education that inspires, equips, and transforms. Each year, we serve more than 5,000 children through artist residencies in early learning centers, after-school programs, summer camps, studio programs, and internships in the arts for high school students. These programs are led by professional teaching artists, actors, directors, musicians, dancers, choreographers, writers, architects, designers, and visual artists, who are passionate about sharing their craft with Miami’s youngest learners. To ensure lasting impact, A4L builds strong community relationships, values stakeholder voices, embraces creative problem-solving, and uses data to inform and strengthen its work.

POSITION SUMMARY
We’re seeking a visionary, relationship-driven leader to take our fundraising, partnerships, and community outreach to the next level. You will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to build a groundswell of support. This is the founding position of what will become a development and marketing team. You’ll be the spark that ignites new marketing and funding opportunities to deepen our roots in the communities we serve, working in a supportive and creative environment to help build and develop the next phase of Arts for Learning with the leadership team.
This is a role that blends the strategic mind of a fundraiser with the heart of a community builder and storyteller. We recognize cultivation and community building takes time and have a goal for where the organization should be in 4 years. This position is key to helping us meet annual benchmarks in our larger growth campaign. While there may be needed assistance on select grant proposals, this position’s focus is not grant writing.
