General
- Salaried Position with paid holidays and 10 paid time off (PTO) days per school year
- Extra-curricular and summer positions available for additional income
- Pay: 10-month position with pay spread over 12 months
- Schedule: 8:00 - 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday
- Benefits: Vision, Medical, Dental, No up-front costs for individual; 1% of salary for family
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist the teacher in maintaining the established routines and procedures of the school and/or the classroom assigned.
- Assist students with meeting academic and/or behavioral goals.
- Assist students with any supports/ modifications needed to access facilities and curriculum, including physical support and adapted teaching materials.
- Support a positive educational climate in which students can learn.
- Participate in required, school-provided 20 hours of Professional Development as required by PA Department of Education.
- Assist in the supervision of students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess and field trips.
- Assist the teacher in preparing materials for class activities.
- Additional tasks as requested by administration.
- Paraprofessionals who hold a bachelor’s degree may function as a substitute for teachers on an as needed basis
Reports to: Principal
Job Qualifications
- Associates degree; 2-years post-secondary study; or other specialized training required.
- Experience working as a paraprofessional or academic setting is preferred.
- Experience working with special education students is preferred.
This is a Full Time, 10 month position offering a complete benefit package including Medical, Dental, and Vision.
Salary: $30,000.
Professional references are required. Upon job offer, the following documents will be required prior to the first day of employment, within a reasonable time frame, to be obtained at the cost of the applicant:
- Act 151: Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance
- PA State Police Request for Criminal Records Check
- Act 114: Federal Criminal History Record Information
- Physical Examination completed within one year on the PA State Standard form.
- TB test results completed within 3 months by a doctor on the PA State Standard form.
- Act 31: Mandatory Child Abuse Reporter Training
