RN – Cardiovascular Critical Care Unit (CVU) – Days

Position Overview

The Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) at Medical Center is a 30-bed specialty unit that provides care for medium-to-high acuity patients requiring advanced nursing interventions. This includes both medical and surgical patients in pre-operative and post-operative phases.

Patients are typically stable but may become unstable, often presenting with complex conditions and multiple comorbidities. The CVU patient population ranges from young adults to geriatric patients.

Common Diagnoses And Procedures Include

  • Cardiac conditions and acute myocardial infarction (MI)
  • Post–cardiac artery bypass surgery and carotid endarterectomy
  • Pacemaker insertion and arrhythmia management
  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), pneumonia, and similar conditions

The nurse-to-patient ratio will not exceed 1:4.

Requirements

  • Active California RN license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • EPIC charting experience
  • Minimum 2 years of Critical Care experience
  • Flexibility to float to other units (including Med/Surg)

Enloe Medical Center accepts only W-2 agency staff. All Med/Surg and Critical Care RNs must float as needed.

Assignment Details

  • Start Date: September 19, 2025
  • Length: 13 weeks
  • Positions Available: 2
  • Shift: 12-hour Day shifts, 7:00 AM start
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

Compensation

  • Base Rate: $74.00/hr
  • Overtime: Base rate $7 (after 40 hours/week)
  • Call Rate: $7/hr (pager)
  • Call Back: Base rate $7, 1-hour minimum
  • Holiday Pay: Base rate $7
  • 24-hr On Call: N/A
