Job Description
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This is a hands-on, safety-sensitive position responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically strong, and committed to quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Troubleshoot issues using hand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Complete oil changes, filter replacements, and engine tune-ups
- Repair or replace components including brakes, transmissions, and fuel systems
- Test drive vehicles to ensure proper performance after repairs
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to use hand tools and diagnostic equipment effectively
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a customer-service mindset

- Tractor-trailer experience
- Diesel engine maintenance

- Caterpillar equipment knowledge

Compensation:
- $27-$34 per hour (DOE)
Benefits & Provisions:
Company-Provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Artistic Treeworks supplies required PPE at no cost to employees, including but not limited to helmets, eye and hearing protection, high-visibility apparel, chainsaw protective equipment, and other safety gear required for assigned tasks. PPE must be worn as required by company policy and Washington State safety regulations.
Safety Training & Compliance
- Employees receive job-specific safety training and ongoing instruction in accordance with WA L&I and ANSI Z133 standards.
Paid Sick Leave (Washington State Required)
- Accrued at a minimum of 1 hour for every 40 hours worked, in compliance with WA state law.
Workers’ Compensation Insurance (WA L&I)
- Full coverage for work-related injuries and occupational illnesses.
Unemployment Insurance (WA State)
- As required by law.
