We are seeking a Smart Home and Low Voltage Technician to join our team. As a Low Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining low voltage systems in commercial and residential buildings.
We are currently looking for low-voltage field technicians to join our team. The Low-Voltage Technician provides infrastructure installation for use in low-voltage systems; audio, video, high-end shades, lighting, and climate control systems in residential and commercial projects in construction environments. You would be part of a critical team responsible for the initial phase of the Smart Home projects, laying down the foundation with the wiring of new homes, termination and labeling and toning of wires, installation of devices in walls and enclosures. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, meticulousness, ability to execute a plan precisely to detail, flexible nature, a great attitude, and a strong work ethic.
Duties:
- Install, maintain, and repair low voltage systems such as security, access control, and surveillance systems
- Build and install custom lock systems
- Telecommunicate with clients to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Adhere to National Electric Code (NEC) standards
- Use power tools to complete installations and repairs
Responsibilities:
- Working with a Pre-wire Lead, installing the infrastructure components for integrated "Smart System" projects in high-end residential construction environments.
- Wiring new homes, termination and labeling and toning of wires, and installing devices in walls and enclosures.
- Troubleshooting installed systems and servicing existing installations.
- Providing and maintaining necessary hand tools for your position.
- Communicating with supervisors regarding project timeline and critical issues, in a timely manner
- A great deal of the projects are within the geographical region of the Washington DC area and some projects will require travel outside of the typical working area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a low voltage technician
- Knowledge of NEC standards
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics a bonus
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
