What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager for Residential Design/Build Firm position at Artisan Remodeling & Design?
Project Manager | Artisan Remodeling & Design | Fort Collins, CO | Full-Time
We're Artisan Remodeling & Design, a family-owned design-build firm in Northern Colorado. By the time a project reaches build, our team has already done the hard work of preconstruction planning and design. What happens next, whether that project runs the way it was planned, largely comes down to the Project Manager. That's who we're looking for.
Our clients trust us with their homes. Because we're not a large, anonymous company, every project reflects directly on us. When a job is organized, communicated well, and stays on track, the client feels it. When it isn't, they feel that too. This role is the difference between those two experiences.
We do kitchens, basements, additions, and whole-home remodels. Complex projects with a lot of moving parts. Which is exactly why we need the right person running them.
What you're stepping into
You are not walking onto a job site cold. Before a project reaches build, our team has worked through design, selections, scope, budgeting, and preconstruction planning. We do everything we can to make sure you're receiving a project that's well documented and ready to go.
That said, this is construction. Things come up. What we're looking for is someone who handles that without losing their footing, someone who can work within a solid process and still think on their feet when the job demands it.
What the job is
Once a project goes to build, it's yours. You'll typically carry three to four projects at a time.
You're the one making sure:
- The schedule is real and actually followed
- Subs are lined up before they're needed, not after
- The job is moving every day
- The site is clean and organized
- The client knows what's happening without having to ask
You're not reacting all day. You're driving the job.
What we're looking for
We don't need someone to manage tasks. We need someone who takes ownership.
That means:
- You catch problems early and handle them before they grow
- You communicate clearly, even when the conversation is uncomfortable
- You hold subs accountable
- You don't need constant check-ins to stay on track
This role is a great fit if:
- You like being responsible for how your jobs run
- You can talk to clients like a real person, even when something goes sideways
- You take pride in a tight, well-run site
- You don't wait around for direction
This isn't the right fit if:
- You need to be managed
- You avoid hard conversations
- Your jobs tend to drift
- "We'll fix it later" is a strategy you use
Experience we're looking for:
- Residential remodeling background
- You understand sequencing and how jobs actually flow
- You've managed subs and schedules before
- You can read plans and work from them
What you get:
- Compensation: $85,000 to $105,000
- Health insurance allowance
- Vehicle allowance
- Phone reimbursement
- Paid time off
- Good projects with real budgets
- A team that genuinely cares about doing this right
- Clear expectations with no guessing games
- Room to grow if you earn it
If you want full ownership of your jobs and take pride in running them well, we'd like to talk.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
