What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Operator position at Artisan Labs?
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Line Operator sets machinery up to properly fill containers to required weight, ensures caps meet torque specifications, and verifies assembly steps meet customer requirements. These steps include application of labels, printing of lot codes, and kitting of product into its outer packaging. Makes adjustments as needed to machinery, including filling machine, lot coder, conveyor belts, and ensures necessary cleaning and maintenance are completed. Provides direction to line associates assigned to their line to ensure production and quality standards are met.
Job Description:
- Reads production job specification sheet to ensure the correct materials are being used for the job and determines machine adjustments to put in the correct amount of product.
- Recommends to Production Manager the amount of labor needed to produce the job effectively and efficiently.
- Trains new line associates on all aspects of the line, including filling, capping, labeling, and pack out.
- Ensures staff on the line are meeting efficiency and quality requirements for the job.
- Responsible for cleanliness and organization of their line.
- Sets up, operates, changes over, maintains and cleans/sanitizes the filling machines.
- Complete necessary production line paperwork.
- Collaborate with Quality Control and take necessary corrective action, as needed.
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation without posing a direct threat to the individual or others.

Education, Skills and Experience Needed:
- Prefer at least 1 year of manufacturing and assembly line experience.
- Prefer High School diploma or GED.
- Communicate well with others, including reading and writing.
- Ability to be self-motivated and hard working.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Must be safety and quality conscious.
- Must be self-sufficient and have the ability to complete tasks without supervision.
- Basic math skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs on a regular basis.
