Business Development Representative
Job Summary:
The Business Development Representative at Artisan Labs is responsible for driving revenue growth while delivering an exceptional client experience across the full product lifecycle—from initial prospecting through product launch and ongoing account management.
This is a highly cross-functional, relationship-driven role requiring deep expertise in personal care product development, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate closely with R&D, Supply Chain, Production, and Customer Service. The Business Development Representative serves as the primary point of contact for clients and acts as their internal advocate to ensure successful execution.
This position works in the Business Development department and reports to the VP of Customer Experience & Business Development.
Job Description:
- Prospect and secure new, high-fit clients using industry knowledge and outbound efforts.
- Effectively communicate Artisan Labs’ value proposition and capabilities.
- Lead client onboarding, including NDAs, capability alignment, and expectation setting.
- Guide clients through the product brief process and ensure complete, accurate project inputs.
- Develop accurate quotes in collaboration with internal teams and present proposals to clients.
- Own the early-stage sales pipeline, including tracking opportunities and key milestones. Manage each project from brief to pre-production handoff.
- Facilitate communication between clients and internal teams, including relaying feedback and updates. Conduct regular client meetings to provide clear, timely communication on project status, to remove blockers, and drive timely progression to PO.

- Address client concerns and resolve issues in a way that strengthens relationships.
- Identify opportunities to expand accounts through new products, innovations, and line extensions.
- Organize and host client visits and engagement opportunities.
- Partner with Customer Service to ensure smooth order execution and communication.
- Act as escalation point for relationship-sensitive issues.
- Partner with R&D to align on product development, innovation, and client needs.
- Advocate for client priorities internally while balancing operational constraints.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives and align them with client interests.
- Maintain accurate and timely sales forecasts.
- Ensure pipeline visibility and data accuracy.
Education, Skills and Experience Needed:
- Associate’s Degree in business-related field preferred.
- Experience developing personal care products.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships in a consultative, service-based environment.
- “The buck stops with me” attitude. A remover of blockers.
- Experience with G Suite or MS Office products. MUST HAVE: Ability to create reports in spreadsheets.
- Diplomatic attitude with impeccable communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people. Customer-service oriented.
- Detail oriented, incredibly organized, with the ability to manage and prioritize projects. Meets deadlines.
