What are the responsibilities and job description for the Usher position at ARTIS-NAPLES, INC?
General Summary
Usher team members are responsible for providing optimal assistance and quality service to all patrons. This requires close contact with the public. The work schedule may involve working days, evenings, and holidays to accommodate scheduled events at any venue. Usher team members receive direct supervision from the Management Team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
- Assist in program preparation including stuffing inserts, distributing to stands and collecting at end of concert or performance.
- Ability and willingness to work any assignment (taking tickets, handing out programs, escorting patrons to seats, The Baker Museum, donor parking, etc.)
- Be in assigned area by designated time.
- Monitor surroundings in assigned area prior to and throughout event for safety, cleanliness and functionality. Notify a member of the House Management Team of any concerns.
- Ability to provide accurate knowledge to patrons regarding venue logistics.
- Respond quickly and courteously to patrons’ questions, comments, needs or concerns with answers and/or action.
- Assess and report potential safety hazards in and around assigned position to the appropriate department and act to resolve the problem without risk of personal injury.
- Take appropriate action in emergency and/or stressful situations.
- Maintain certification and/or training in CPR/AED, First Aid, Evacutrac Emergency Chair, Active Shooter and Fire Extinguisher.
- Must be capable of operating a Fire Extinguisher and Evacutrac Emergency Chair.
- Provide CPR, First Aid, or other assistance, if necessary, when called upon.
- Must be capable of performing mathematical calculations (i.e.: cash handling).
- Understand and adhere to all established policies and procedures.
- Attend required training and meetings.
- Adhere to the prescribed dress code and maintain the issued uniform.
- Must be available to work a minimum of three shifts per week, including a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
- Observe safety requirements. Reports safety issues and items requiring work orders to Supervisor or Security.
- Work effectively with all Artis—Naples team members.
