Job Overview
The Inspection Helper assists a certified Non-destructive Testing (NDT) Technician to gain necessary on-the-job training (OJT) hours. As OJT hours are gained, the Inspection Helper has the opportunity to gain certification to move into Technician positions. Non-destructive testing technicians provide hands-on inspecting services that detect defects or flaws in the metals or welds being tested without damaging the material. NDT inspection methods include liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, and radiography.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Hold a valid driver’s license, driving record reviewed for coverage under fleet insurance
- Able to learn inspection methods
- Able to see and detect flaws, indications, or defects in materials being tested
- Able to make final determination that material or weld is within specifications
- Understanding of math principles in algebra and geometry
- Good communication both verbal and written
Work environment
- Drug free - verified by urine, hair, and/or breath testing
