Responsibilities
o Accounting
- Assist with daily and monthly NAV reconciliation process
- Manage relationships with Big Four accounting firms and the annual audit process
- Support the CFO in day-to-day hedge fund operations, including internal accounting, performance reporting, margin monitoring, securities lending, daily trade settlements, and regulatory filings
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives to support the firm’s growth
o Tax
- Manage hedge fund tax compliance and planning, in collaboration with the CFO
- Oversee preparation of partnership tax returns, K-1s, and various tax workpapers
- Conduct tax research and analysis for the funds and principal partners
- Prepare periodic tax estimates and deliverables
- Provide strategic advice on complex tax concepts
- Communicate tax matters with internal and external parties
- Analyze and monitor taxable income, partnership allocations, wash sales, and straddles
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA required
- MS in Taxation is a plus
- 3 years of hedge fund tax experience. Preferably within a hedge fund, asset management, or public accounting firm
- Deep understanding of hedge fund investment tax matters, including analysis, tracking, and compliance
- Familiarity with fund accounting and tax software
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High degree of integrity and professionalism
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, learn new skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
