Position: Stamp Press Maintenance Technician
Location: Kings Mountain, NC
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:00AM - 1:00PM, Some Weekends
Hourly Rate: $30.00 - $35.00
We’re seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician with extensive experience on stamping presses—particularly hydraulic presses and complete press lines (decoiler, straightener, servo feed, die lube, and die protection). This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance to keep presses running safely and at peak performance while minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot & repair hydraulic stamping presses: pumps, motors, cylinders, manifolds, accumulators, proportional/servo valves, pressure controls, die cushions, and lubrication systems.
- Maintain full press lines: coil handling, servo feeds, straighteners, transfer systems, conveyors, die protection, tonnage monitoring, and part-out systems.
- Electrical & controls work: diagnose PLC/HMI issues (e.g., Allen-Bradley/Siemens), read ladder logic, set I/O, tune VFDs/servo drives, and calibrate sensors, encoders, and limit switches.
- Mechanical precision: inspect and align gibs and guides, adjust slide parallelism, replace bearings, rebuild cylinders, set die height/tonnage, and perform press bed/slide inspections.
- Preventive & predictive maintenance: execute PMs, oil and filter changes, fluid analysis, lubrication checks, and thermography/vibration checks where applicable.
- Root cause analysis: lead 5-Why/8D on chronic failures; implement countermeasures to reduce MTTR and increase MTBF/OEE.
- Documentation & CMMS: log work orders, parts usage, and PM compliance; maintain accurate schematics, prints, and procedures.
- Spare parts & vendor coordination: specify critical spares, coordinate with OEMs/service providers, and support upgrades/retrofits.
- Safety & compliance: enforce LOTO, arc-flash, and machine guarding practices; support pre-startup safety reviews and assist with JHAs.
- Support tool & die: assist with die changeovers, press tryouts, and bring-up for progressive, transfer, and deep-draw operations.
- Continuous improvement: help standardize PMs, improve lubrication/filtration, and recommend control/hydraulic upgrades.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
