Duties
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and assisting with physical assessments when needed.
- Manage patient intake processes, including scheduling appointments, updating electronic health record (EHR) systems, and verifying insurance information.
- Support physicians and healthcare providers during procedures such as US guided injections or other specialized tests in office when needed.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient encounters, ICD coding for diagnoses, and detailed notes on physiology and anatomy relevant to patient care.
- Performing prior authorizations via phone or electronically.
- Assisting with inbound calls and realying medication information to patients.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Experience as a Medical Assistant in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or similar environments.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration procedures.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in managing patient records efficiently.
- Prior experience not required but recommended
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings.
