Position Summary:
The Business Operations Associate position is an entry level opportunity that plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate, efficient, and compliant handling of medical implant inventory. This individual will be responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and tracking medical implants, ensuring that inventory levels meet the needs of the sales representative territories. This position requires attention to detail, knowledge of medical inventory management practices, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming medical implants, ensuring accurate identification, labeling, and packaging.
- Maintain accurate stock records for all medical implant products, utilizing inventory management systems and databases.
- Monitor inventory levels and to replenish stock as necessary, ensuring no stockouts for critical implants.
- Ensure that implants are stored in appropriate conditions in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and health regulations.
- Tracking and Documentation:
- Accurately log all medical implant transactions, including receipts, usage, and returns, ensuring compliance with internal tracking systems and regulatory standards.
- Ensure proper documentation of inventory movement, including lot numbers, expiration dates, and traceability information for all medical implants.
- Support periodic inventory audits and assist in reconciling physical inventory with system records.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect medical implants for damage, expiration, and other quality-related issues before they are distributed for use in surgeries or procedures.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or recalls to the appropriate supervisor immediately.
- Collaboration with Sales Representatives:
- Work closely with sales teams and other departments to fulfill implant requests, ensuring that orders are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist in preparing medical implant kits for scheduled surgeries and ensure the kits are complete, accurate, and meet all required standards.
- Infrequent deliveries to nearby facilities.
- Support Medical Education team when needed (i.e. cadaver labs and medical education events).
- Compliance and Safety:
- Maintain adherence to regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, ISO) regarding the handling, storage, and distribution of medical implants.
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in continuous education and training related to medical device management and compliance.
- Process Improvement:
- Suggest and implement process improvements for more efficient inventory management and reduced waste.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to inventory control.
