Job Overview
Looking for Winter employees to help shovel sidewalks.
Hours are dependent on weather, 30 hours at most.
Early mornings starting around 3 am .
You must be reliable and have your own transportation to get to work.
Duties
- Operate snow plowing equipment such as snow blowers, plows, shovels, and salt spreaders to clear snow from various surfaces
- Apply salt or de-icing materials to prevent ice formation and ensure safety
- Use hand tools like shovels, brooms, and ice scrapers for detailed clearing around obstacles and tight spaces
- Maintain and inspect all snow removal equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are met
- Coordinate with team members to prioritize high-traffic areas such as entrances, emergency exits, and walkways
- Document completed work and report any equipment issues or safety hazards promptly
Requirements
- You must be able to drive yourself to the company property or organize your own transportation. After that you will carpool to the snow removal sites.
- You are responsible for providing yourself with suitable winter clothing.
- Mechanical knowledge related to snow removal equipment is highly desirable
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions with physical stamina for manual labor tasks
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to the operation of hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards during snow removal operations
- Ability to follow instructions accurately while working independently or as part of a team
