We currently have an opening in Stuart, FL for a Concrete Laborer building shell home structures from concrete and concrete blocks.
Job Summary:
The Concrete Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of physical tasks related to concrete construction, including site preparation, concrete placement, finishing, and cleanup. This position supports the concrete crew to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality completion of foundations, building structures, slabs, sidewalks, driveways, and other concrete structures. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing construction sites by setting up daily work, clearing debris and keeping job site clean, and unloading trucks and accepting deliveries on job sites.
Assist Masons with tasks, providing tools, materials, and concrete.
Help with pouring, spreading, and leveling concrete using hand tools and power equipment.
Support finishing operations by providing tools, resources, and materials for edging, jointing, floating, and troweling concrete surfaces.
Load, unload, and move materials such as cement, sand, gravel, and tools as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized worksite, ensuring safe walking areas and proper disposal of waste materials.
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations; use PPE appropriately and assist in maintaining a hazard-free work zone.
Work closely with other crew members, operators, and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (preferred).
At least one year of prior construction experience required.
Previous experience in concrete or general construction work preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
Ability to use hand tools (shovels, rakes, trowels, etc.) and small power equipment.
Physical stamina and strength to lift up to 50 lbs and perform strenuous tasks in varying weather conditions.
Knowledge of basic construction safety practices.
Reliable transportation and strong work ethic.
Working Conditions:
Outdoor work environment with exposure to sun, heat, cold, dust, and noise.
Requires bending, lifting, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
May require overtime, weekend, or early morning shifts based on project needs.
